WRITTEN IN INK

Time's Gap

This game was written by in June of 2023 for Orifice Jam and was my first attempt at making something with Ink.

A Few Influences

Games:

Sabbat by ohnoproblems - The idea of formatting a game around a ritual is such a potent idea. This was the first Twine game I ever played.

Signal Hill by crosshollow - Variations of the desert scene from this game have been in my mind for years, and playing Signal Hill brought those visions of drugs and desert convoys very much to the forefront of my imagination.

The Archivist and the Revolution by Autumn Chen - This game was written while dealing with feelings about chronic illness, something that Archivist got me thinking about recently.

Computerfriend by slugzuki - Something something wearable respirators and vomit. We've all been there.

Tell Me If There's A Way Home by @blood-teeth - Blood, Blood, Blood.

Spy Intrigue by furkle - Memories, memories, memories. One of the best games I've ever played.

The works of Porpentine, whose writings inspired Orifice Jam and whose influence on interactive fiction as a medium cannot be overstated.

These games are all so much better than this one. Please go play them immediately and give the authors your money.

Movies:

Stalker
Basically every Cronenberg movie but especially The Fly

Books:

I've just learned 'Tell Me If There's A Way Home' is going to be a novel, so I think that counts. Best of luck to Morgan in her novel endeavours.

Special thanks manonamora, Autumn Chen, sophiades, and slugzuki for hosting the jam and inspiring me to make something, and to Manon, Jinx (lapinlunaire-games), and Thyme for their encouragement.
